Spooky Spectacular
It's event time!!! This time we have a spooky spectacular late night opening, you and your friends are all invited!! (Adults & Children!!)
5pm till 7.30pm Wednesday 29th October 2025, no booking required

We are bringing you another free event for our local community! Fight your fears!! Our shop upstairs and downstairs will be tremendously decorated by our team, with ghosts and ghouls everywhere!! Our staff and ourselves will be dressed in our Halloween costumes and we would love to see you all in yours!! Prize for the best dressed!

Come see if you can conquer your fear? Spiders, Snakes and more will be out and about if you fancy fighting your fears! (Don't worry if not, we have bunnies too ) Are you brave enough?!?
Our famous what's in the box game will be returning, can you guess what's in the box??

Judging by previous events we are expecting a good turn out, if you could spend no more than an hour in store we would highly appreciate it so everyone can get hands on with their fears.
Second Event
Exotic Animal Handling Experience
The ultimate exotic animal handling experience, brought to you by The Exotic Animal Encounter at South Elmsall Pets LTD. The first session is between 10.30am and 12 noon. The second session is between 1pm and 3pm.
Free tea and coffee & slushie for children. All food and drink must be consumed down stairs and will not be allowed in the animal room.
Alongside the interactive talks and handling on offer we will also have a mini beasts table down stairs. This is where you can get up close and personal with all types of creepy crawlies from giant millipedes to hissing cockroaches!
Feeling brave? Dare you guess what toy is buried in our huge boxes of worms? Guess it right and win a toy!
Simply turn up to one of the allocated sessions, we ask you to only attend one session, get your hand stamp from the till area and then you can head upstairs once given the go ahead. You must have a stamp to enter the animal room.
Hand washing is essential for this event. Our hand washing station is there to use, please head here once you get upstairs to thoroughly wash yours and your child's hands. Please make sure you wash your hands after in interactions with the animals.
You may experience small waits down stairs during busy periods and will be asked to make your way up once space frees up. There is no time limit to how long you can spend with us but we do ask people to be mindful and respect that it will be a busy event with lots of people wanting to be hands on.
Subject to how the animals are feeling we should have a full house tomorrow including amazing meerkats, a beautiful skunk, crazy looking armadillo, and even an owl! Keep an eye out for snakes, lizards and more as you walk around our animal room.
Can't wait to see you all tomorrow! It should be an absolutely fantastic day.
Well what on earth was that!?!!
Once again you guys have absolutely smashed it out of the park for us! Overwhelmed doesn't even come close to how we are feeling. Thank you so much to each and every one of you that has attended, helped or even just sent messages of support.
The Exotic Animal Encounter, you are amazing. You and Sarah smashed it for us, thank you so much! Without you we can't make an event like this.
Thomas and Tabs, you guys have our backs daily and you know how much we appreciate you but again you've gone above and beyond to make this event great for our locals!
Chris and Jeorgia (and kids), Natalie and Gary, Anya (and partner), Jenn and Jack (You legend), thank you all so much for all your help today. Without you guys we would have had tonnes of bored folk cueing for ages at a time!
Well done to everyone who got involved, everyone that tried the dare you boxes did amazing! We went through 5l of slushie syrup, of which around 3 cups ended up all over the floor (we call that a success for the amount of children present)
We can't wait to do it all over again!
We didn't anticipate the size of the turn out so future events may be regulated through a ticket system alongside our plans to integrate a separate session for SEND people.
Everyone's absolutely shattered, sorry to everyone for any waits you may have experienced but we really hoped you all thoroughly enjoyed our ultimate animal handling encounter! Apologies about the temperature, the AC unit was really feeling it!
We had over 1000 visitors (not including the animals ) to the shop today which is insane!

First Event
Opening Day
Well... I can't believe we are going to do it... We can finally announce our grand opening...
Saturday 21st December 2024
Open 9.00am - 5.00pm
Free animal encounter experience with Betsy's Exotics between 12.00 noon and 2.00pm who will bring a selection of exotic mammals and reptiles.

Although we are making last minute adjustments, have orders coming in through our ar** and still have tonnes to sort, we are confident(ISH) we will be ready for you. Our downstairs is almost complete, we are busy filling it from floor to ceiling with quality, affordable pet products. Our livefood should be here by the weekend. Our freezers are filled with raw dog foods, frozen rats, mice, multimammates etc.
The upstairs animal and display room is a work in progress, we are racing together to try to get as much completed as possible but this will not be finished until the middle of January earliest, which is when we expect to acquire our pet shop license. The upstairs will be open for browsing as we wouldn't want you to miss out on the hundreds of lines of parrot/bird toys and cages we have to offer you. Please bare with us whilst we install all of our amazing animal enclosures!!

Well, what can we say? How amazing was that...
We are in complete shock at how our open day went, never in a million years did we think we would have been so busy! It was amazing to see each and every one of you, new customers as well as old! Apologies to anyone who found it too busy in the shop.
Thank you to everyone whether you spent £1 or £100 or even just popped in for a browse, every single one of you made today so special.
It's safe to say we are incredibly tired after such a long day, back to the grind tomorrow, 10.00am - 3.00pm. If today was too busy for you, tomorrow should be much quieter!!
- We now have a constant supply of delicious fresh live food delivered to us at least twice weekly.
- Full freezers of frozen rats, mice, multis, fish food and raw dog feed.
